The Southwest Wisconsin Technical College campus in
Fennimore had a distinguished visitor prior to the State Board
meeting July 25. Governor Jim Doyle visited as part of his

Governor talked with students and graduates about their job
prospects, while SWTC had an opportunity to show the Governor
some of the unique programs at the college, such as Golf

| FTEs strong for 2005-2006 |
|
| The number of full-time equivalent (FTE) students in
Wisconsin's Technical Colleges remained at near record levels
this past year. The total number of FTEs in the system was
nearly 68,000, or one percentage point lower than last year.
This is still a 23-percent increase over the last decade, and
the third highest total on record. Several colleges have
already indicated strong enrollments for the summer, which may
indicate that FTEs will remain at or near record levels. FTEs
are total credits taken, divided by 30, which typically
measures the equivalent of full-time students in one school
year. |
