James ZylstraVice President for Finance Phone: (608) 266-1739 James Zylstra is the Vice President of Finance for the Wisconsin Technical College System. He has oversight responsibility for the office's internal operations including accounting, budgeting, procurement, payroll, human resources, facilities, and information technology. In addition, his areas include providing guidance to the technical colleges in developing financial policies and standards, distributing state aid, determining student fees and tuition rates, and approval of district facility development proposals. Mr. Zylstra also works with the other senior managers to develop system policy and respond to the needs of the State Board. Prior to his current position, Mr. Zylstra spent nine years with the Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau, conducting and supervising both financial audits and program evaluations. He also spent several years in private law practice. He earned a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from UW-Milwaukee and a Juris Doctorate from UW-Madison. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin. |
